About Julia

I’m an educator and longtime meditation teacher based in California. My interest in meditation began early. In high school, I read Autobiography of a Yogi and Lost Horizon, books that awakened something in me. In 1993, I spent a college semester in Bali studying Eastern philosophy and learning meditation from respected masters.

Despite these early experiences, meditation remained somewhat abstract. That changed in 1998, when I learned Sudarshan Kriya (sky meditation) through an Art of Living course. The results were immediate - I experienced a profound sense of peace and beauty, along with a deep release of stress. Inspired by its impact, I began teaching have since guided thousands of students.

I’m a graduate of Harvard University and have taught at Stanford University and Yale School of Management where I’ve integrated scientific insight with timeless wisdom to make meditation practical for modern life. I also worked as a research health science specialist at the Veterans Affairs Health Care System in Palo Alto, studying the effects of Sky meditation on veterans with PTSD.
I work with both beginners and experienced practitioners, helping them deepen and evolve their practice.
